We are excited to offer a unique Victorian-revival poison ring/ locket ring. This special ring opens so you can place a photo/ object/ love letter/ keepsake inside. It is likely from around the 1970s so it’s vintage. Due to the articulated mechanism, it is very very rare to find these in great functional condition AND even rarer to find one with a juicy garnet cabochon, ornate fleur de lis prong setting, and carved face. This ring is the definition of one-of-a-kind.
Why we love it
It is very rare to see locket rings or poison rings in general, and especially with a juicy garnet cabochon. This one has a very unique etched design and vampy vintage look. Similar examples made with less gold go for a much higher price than this but passing along the deal we got on this rare novelty jewelry piece. This piece is a hefty 8.4g.

🤍 well-made and crafted of solid 14k gold and hefty at 8.4g
🤍 fits like a size 6, sizable, size 5.75 on the mandrel
🤍 likely from the 1970s (approx 60 years old)
🤍 14k hallmark has slightly faded but still visible, tested as 14k solid gold
🤍 hinge and closure are fully functional
🤍 in overall excellent preowned condition with minimal wear commensurate with age, the garnet cabochon has some mild hard-to-see scratches commensurate with age (60 years old), hinge and lock function well, setting is a bit skewed which has been factored into pricing, but this is not noticeable when worn and likely a feature since its construction and not a defect
